Ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives election, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has made necessary preparations to ensure a reliable electric system at polling stations.
To that end, the MEA has established an ad hoc electric system control center at the MEA’s head office in Khlong Toei district of the capital. In addition, to support the election, the MEA has stationed personnel at 71 power stations and conducted inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment. Backup power systems have been installed at 70 locations, including polling stations, vote-counting centers, and election coordination centers in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan. The MEA, overseen by the Ministry of Interior, is responsible for managing the electricity distribution system in the three administrative areas.
Furthermore, the MEA has developed its electric system infrastructure, ensuring adequate and dependable power supply. Backup power systems have been installed at key locations such as the Samut Prakan Provincial Hall, the Nonthaburi Provincial Hall, and the Election Commission office in Bangkok.
The MEA has stressed that it prioritizes the readiness of the electric system at media locations crucial for disseminating election news. Dedicated staff members will monitor the electric system continuously until the conclusion of the vote-counting process. The MEA has implemented an enhanced Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system to ensure a smooth power supply transition at these locations.
Plc Control Cabinet Collaboration with relevant agencies has been established to ensure stable electrical systems and facilitate accurate, rapid, transparent, and seamless reporting of election results. (NNT)
